Image 3 is different than a typical ID photo because we used a prop to add character to the photo and show Josie's characteristics just by looking at the picture. we used two lights and we positioned one to the left of the model and one directly in front of her to the right. We had a bright light, a dimmed light and the reflector to reflect light off of her face. The first picture is very happy and simple, the second picture looks more mysterious and secretive and the third picture shows innocence and simplicity. To heighten the mood of happy, you could make the lights brighter and the colors brighter, mysterious could be made darker, and the innocence could be lighter and softer.
1. Why did you select the image? I really like the focus and colors of the shot. How is the image compositionally dynamic? I used the law of thirds to draw attention to the clearly shown chalk. How does the viewer's eye move around the image? The chalk pieces are all different colors which draw your eves around each piece. What technical considerations did you make when shooting the image ( aperture, depth of field, shutter speed, etc.) Middle aperture, mid depth of field, was used along with a fast shutter speed. 2. Why did you select the image? I selected this image because i took the tules of a portrait and cut the picture in half. How is the image compositionally dynamic? The image is compositionally dynamic because shaley's face is in the law of thirds vertically and the color balance and shadow is perfectly placed. How does the viewer's eye move around the image? Shaley's face is very complex and full of details that the viewer will look at. What technical considerations did you make when shooting the image ( aperture, depth of field, shutter speed, etc.) I used a short shutter speed with proper focus and a good use of white balance. 3.Why did you select the image? I picked this picture because of the color balance and the focus. How is the image compositionally dynamic? The image is compositionally dynamic because the phones focus is right on the law of thirds, and the silver and rust counter balance each other, causing the image to pop. How does the viewer's eye move around the image? The viewers eyes move around the image because of the focus as well as the rust popping throughout. What technical considerations did you make when shooting the image ( aperture, depth of field, shutter speed, etc.) I used a short shutter speed, a tripod and a good use of white balance when shooting this image. 4. Why did you select the image? I choose this picture because of the warmth that the picture gives off. How is the image compositionally dynamic? Josie's eyes and the flower are on the law of thirds. How does the viewer's eye move around the image? Because of the different colors the viewer may start at the flower then work their way to her nails, eyes and hair. What technical considerations did you make when shooting the image ( aperture, depth of field, shutter speed, etc.) When shooting this picture i used a fast shutter speed and a tripod. 5. Why did you select the image? I picked this picture because I liked the assignment of shooting portraits and this one was my best. How is the image compositionally dynamic? Shaley's eyes are balanced on the law of thirds. How does the viewer's eye move around the image? The viewers eye moves around because of the shales eyes matching the color of her shirt and the contrast from light to dark. What technical considerations did you make when shooting the image ( aperture, depth of field, shutter speed, etc.) I used a fast shutter speed and a tripod with a focus on shaleys face. 6. Why did you select the image? I selected the image because of the way shay is shown in the picture. How is the image compositionally dynamic? It is compositionally dynamic because my head is on the lower line of the law of thirds. How does the viewer's eye move around the image? The viewer first will notice my face and then as they look around they will notice the vibrance of my leggings as well as half disappearing shaley. What technical considerations did you make when shooting the image ( aperture, depth of field, shutter speed, etc.) In order to get this picture we used a tripod with a long shutter speed.
I chose to combine these images because of the contrast between colors, as well as the snow on my dog and on the hearts. The mood that my photo is giving off is dramatic as well as loving. I think the contrast between images was successful because it really shows the hearts through the dog showing that the dog is fun of innocence and love. I wouldn't manipulate anything, I like my composition and what i did to it.
I feel my images are successful because of the vibrant color of my dog, the enhancement of my cats eyes and the color balance of the beach, even when facing the sun. The emotional attachment to the images that i brought out would be the crop on the picture of my dog, and the innocence of the snow on her face. My cat's eyes are enhanced to intrigue the viewer and the beach is lightly balanced to show the light ands airy feel of a beach. I woud want to be photographed smiling or making a funny face because i feel like that would enhance my personality through the picture.
